Vancouver’s North Shore is a 180° view, 18-gigapixel image that is made up of 1600 photos taken on July 6, 2011 and then stitched together. The final hi-res file is 299,980 X 60,000 pixels or 17,999 megapixels. The image is the largest Canadian digital photo ever created as of August 20, 2011. Vancouver Skyline (Canada Day 2011)
Canada Day 2011 is a 7.2 billion pixel image, 90° view of the famous Vancouver skyline from across Stanley Park. The image is composed of 1224 individual photos taken on July 1, 2011. The horizontal banding is due to the change in cloud and lighting conditions during the 90 minute shoot. The final hi-res file is 206,706 X 34,802 pixels or 7,194 megapixels. It is the largest digital photo ever created of the Vancouver skyline as of July 2011.
Granville Slopes
Granville Slopes is a 10 block area located between the Burrard Bridge (left) and Granville Bridge (right), sloping down from Pacific Avenue to the False Creek waterfront. Granville Slopes is emerging as one of Vancouver’s highest density residential neighborhoods.
Downtown Vancouver
Downtown Vancouver is a 158° view of Vancouver, BC Canada from the rooftop of Vancouver City Hall. The famous North Shore Mountains (Cypress, Lions, Grouse and Mt. Seymour) are in the backdrop. On the left is English Bay. Spanning the width is False Creek with Yaletown condos on the left, Cambie Street Bridge (center), and on the right, BC Place Stadium with its new retractable roof under construction, Rogers Arena, Port Metro Vancouver, Olympic Athlete’s Village and Science World. The tallest building (center) is the Living Shangri-la Tower. The image is a composite of 1380 individual photos taken on December 17, 2010 using a GigaPan EPIC Pro, Canon EOS Rebel T2i and a Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM.
