British Columbia Parliament Buildings

The British Columbia Parliament Buildings are located in Victoria, British Columbia. It officially opened in 1898 with a 500-ft (152-m) long facade, central dome, two end pavilions, and a gilded bronze statue of Captain George Vancouver. It serves as the seat of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia. The Neo-Baroque buildings face north on Belleville street facing the Inner Harbour and diagonally across from The Empress Hotel. The BC Parliament Buildings in Victoria were constructed in 1893 by a young 25 year old creative architect by the name of Francis Rattenbury in honor of celebrating Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee.
